THE CHALLENGE

Ensogo had built a differentiated platform, but marketing hadn’t caught up with the product. There was no unified marketing strategy connecting SEO, content, demand generation, and the sales pipeline — and the website’s platform limited what the team could control or optimize.

The company didn’t need another agency running isolated tactics. It needed marketing leadership: someone to sit with sales and business development, understand the platform deeply, set direction, and build the foundation the team could execute against.

The engagement

I joined as a fractional marketing leader, embedded with the founders and the sales/BD team. The scope covered marketing strategy, demand generation, SEO, website optimization, and marketing technology.

The operating principle: understand the business first, then build the foundation — not one-off tactics. I spent time in sales and BD conversations learning how buyers evaluate ESG platforms before writing a single line of strategy.

What we built

A comprehensive marketing plan. Ensogo’s first unified marketing strategy, developed with and reviewed by the leadership team, so marketing and sales pull in the same direction.

A website Ensogo controls. A full redesign on an SEO-friendly platform, replacing a setup that limited structure and optimization. Content reorganized for clarity and consistency across languages, with competitor content and resource strategies analyzed to guide it.

An SEO foundation. A baseline report of current performance, keyword research built on competitor analysis, on-page optimization priorities, and a monthly reporting and refresh program — designed to compound.

Competitive benchmarking. A structured analysis of competing AI-powered ESG reporting platforms — key features, technology differentiation, market positioning, and digital visibility — surfacing the market gaps Ensogo could own.

A demand generation framework. The lead-magnet structure for Ensogo’s next stage — gated content, webinars, targeted email, and account-based marketing — documented for the team to execute. The lead magnets themselves were built and made live on the website.

Why it worked

Leadership, embedded. Sitting inside sales and BD conversations meant the strategy was built on how buyers actually evaluate ESG platforms — not on assumptions.

Foundation over tactics. Every deliverable — the Marketing Plan, the website, the SEO program, the demand-gen framework — was documented so the team could keep executing after the engagement.

Strategy and hands-on execution in the same pair of hands. The same person who wrote the plan rebuilt the website and published the content — at a fraction of the cost of a full-time marketing hire.

If you’re a B2B company whose marketing hasn’t caught up with your product, this is exactly the kind of engagement that fixes it.
